why is the world worldly ….
Hello again, my dear board. i come to you again to pour some more over your shoulders the burdens that my mind carries with it.
Another fear in a new day. this new day is deemed to be the fruit bearer of all days forgone. people finally get to gratify their allout efforts throughout the semester. I for a change have also seen some improvements in myself in the bygone semesters. What i see in the faces of is not the joy of good grades but a lust for more. This is not to be confused with determination to get more as determination is associated with a goal equally matched. Here the case is quite different. Conformism is a way , which leads to this lust. As the ever unquenchable thirst for air we breath , the insatiable desire, to do like the majority does, is prevailing over here. We often search for a solution to our problems in relatively easy fashion. The simplest solution is to copy what others do. That success is obtained by copying ,an oxymoronic statement , is a widely accepted algorithm for us. The intelligent solution as many would say, is to emulate other success stories. Isn’t that a backward step for us? Isn’t that amoral for people like us on whose shoulders rests the burden for pioneering new technology fronts.
My point is that , even though the competition is cut throat the natural tendency to take the easy way out is not correct. Seldom comes a breakthrough in science while copying others or following any algorithm. How often do you feel gratified by doing what others do? How often do you feel good about yourself following others ? How easy it is to emulate others? The answers might not have been thought upon by many as ignorance maybe the cause for the blissful state that people remain in. The way of life by popular standards is a set of rules which are followed meaninglessly.
Do you know your direction ? Do you have a motive behind your heading for that direction ? Does that reason involve social bearings on your side?
Granted , the societies role in shaping our thoughts is necessary , but don’t you think that an individual is the one making society. Why do you forget that society is for the individuals’ own good. The whole concept of cooperation is for individuals to help each other out , not restraint each other.Thus my views hold that mob psycholgy has evolved as a parasite upon the society that we live in and is soon going to dictate the terms that we live for. Isn’t that resentful ?
Coming back to the annoucements of grades that is a much touted mega event in here. A big disappointment for me though will be a D /E obtained in the easiest course of all. the latter having more probability. i would then be having two scars (or sins in other peoples languages ) the burden of doing two courses more than the others later in the remaining portion of my stay in iit is a sad thought. But as i am a pessimistic person , who on any onset of problems assumes the worst and adopts the ever adjusting attitude , i automatically was thinking of when to do this course later rather than thinking of going to the prof and discussing. i know that this attitude is inappropriate but what can i say luck never is on my side thus happening of anything ‘good’ to me is a good one to million chance. I hence have this preemptive strike on my fate to mock it !
